How to Drive Traffic to Your Links

Why do we need to drive traffic and how can we achieve that? Because without traffic or the important clicks, our websites are nothing. Every webmaster needs guaranteed clicks to make money via their websites or article links. As a computer geek and a web mentor, I can say that writing article or designing a web site is much easier than driving traffic.

What should I do to make our sites popular in the web and how can we introduce them to search engines without breaking the rules of web. This is actually achieved by a proper combination of driving traffic sources. I am sure that, you are asking me that what they are? I won’t make you wait because of the simplicity of the answer.

Here is a great list of basic traffic sources:

1. Social Bookmarking sites

Stumbleupon, Digg, Reddit, Propeller, Mixx, Multiply, Simply, Technorati and Delicious are the most popular bookmarking sites. However, every user is surely convinced by the power of SU and Digg. The old version of SU is better than the new Beta one. Digg has also changed some parts of the programs but they are still strong. Reddit easily removes the site and bans the users so that I don’t think so it is not as powerful as the opponents in social media field.

2. Social Networking sites

Social networking is like the arena where the gladiators to fight against each. Links, articles, websites or web portals should attract the other social networkers somehow. To do this, webmasters empower their sites with photos, videos and some visual effects. The title and banner (if it has) should be great enough to intrigue. Facebook, Twitter, Orkut and Myspace are the most popular networks. Not ordinary persons but also most of the celebrities use networks to share and contact with their fans. Ashton Kutcher, Britney Spears, Kevin Spacey, Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian are among the well-known celebrities using Twitter.

3. Forums

Forum writer’ s use their links in signatures and each post turns back to webmaster as a backlink. However, webmasters have to use related forum sites to get backlinks. For example, if the site is travel related, it should be posted to traveling forums. It works well if it is planned smoothly.

4. Directories

Directories group the similar contents. Some search engines ignore directories to drive traffic.

5. Comments

The comment parts of other sites are also backlinks. However, the comments are usually no follow type and not followed by search engines. Each turns back as backlink.

6. Submission to search engines

Submission to Google, Yahoo and Bing may drive traffic in the long run.

If the rules are followed, these strategies may return with crazy results. Crazy results like thousands of clicks daily.
