Hi Phil
Thank goodness some does not agree with me all the time. I would become unbearable! There are people like yourself that will pass on details without a literal business card either electronically or simply by word of mouth. However ask yourself how did you get the phone number and details into your system? Business card? Never under estimate them as the card can encourage a recipient to record it electronically. All referrals are good referrals and if they are directly the result of a card or otherwise they are always welcomed. Keep passing out your own cards and you will be amazed at the results. There is something good about being given a quality business card as opposed to an electronic file transfer or a phone number written down on a scrap or paper.

I think some of this is right. The card is vital for collecting information or passing yours on to another interested party in a face to face scenario.

Where I think there is an issue is with passing them on to others. I oftern refer other people, but don't carry everyones business card around. I tend therefore to actually pass them my outlook vcard or text them the contact from my phone!

This could just be because I tend to be mobile as a business rather than have people coming into my office!!!

(I can't agree with you all the time Roland!)
